A Message from the Newly Elected Chair

Writer's picture: cmsacscmsacs

I want pass along this brief note of appreciation for entrusting me to serve as our section chair and for the endless enthusiasm that I observed over the course of the year by our members .
As you may recall, we concluded last year by soliciting your input to increase the relevance of our section in your life. From this, we expanded our social media presence to include LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter. If you not had a chance to connect with us there, the links are provided below. Behind the scenes, we also transitioned our website on short notice to its new domain, cmsacs.org. While the above was a group effort, particular appreciation should be directed to Drs. Erica Costello, Ioannis Papayannopoulos, and Matthew Grandbois. I am also proud that this year our section was able to host and/or sponsor a mixture of social and professional events. My favorite was the Worcester Braveheart game although the brewery takeover sounded fun.
Based on this momentum, I'm really looking forward to the coming year! We have also nearly completed the process to update our bylaws and bring them to the modern age. This should consequently improve the convenience for all of our members to engage in the election process and reestablish our section's alignment with the ACS national Committee on Constitution & Bylaws (C&B).
Finally, the votes have been counted! Please join me in congratulating Drs. Mary Thandi Buthelezi, Mark Turnbull, Jia Wei, and Erica Costello for being elected to serve as our 2020 chair-elect, treasurer, secretary, and member-at-large, respectively.
Wishing you all the best over the holidays.
